Having a well-balanced, nutritious diet is not only important for your overall health, but also essential to your oral health.
What you consume has a major impact on your teeth. Your mouth is the first sign of contact with the foods you consume. So if your nutrition is poor, the first signs will reflect on your gums and teeth. Stick to a well balanced meal that contains more fruits and vegetables, dairy products (low fat or fat free), grains (oatmeal, whole wheat bread, & brown rice) and protein such as (lean beef, skinless poultry, & fish). Try and keep the sugary treats and drinks to a minimum. Also try and avoid any acidic drink and food. The acid can cause major damage to the enamel of your teeth and can lead to a lot of sensitivity and may also cause tooth erosion. So, do your best in trying to preserve the health of your teeth and remember to floss after every meal and brush twice a day. This will help keep your oral health at it best.
